കത്തോലിക്കാസഭയിലെ സ്ത്രീസന്ന്യസ്തരെ പത്രമാധ്യമങ്ങളിലൂടെയും ഇതര ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് മാധ്യമങ്ങളിലൂടെയും അവഹേളിക്കുകയും ആക്ഷേപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതിനെതിരേ സന്ന്യസ്തരുടെയും വൈദികരുടെയും രജിസ്റ്റേഡ് സംഘടനയായ NLFRP (National Lawyers Forum of Religious and Priests)-യുടെ കേരള ഘടകം മനുഷ്യാവകാശ കമ്മീഷന് പരാതി നല്കി. പരാതിയെ സാധൂകരിക്കുന്ന ഡിജിറ്റല്‍ തെളിവുകളും നല്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്നും സാദ്ധ്യമായ എല്ലാ നിയമവഴികളും ഈ വിഷയത്തില്‍ തേടുമെന്നും സംഘടനയുടെ പ്രസിഡന്‍റ് Dr. Adv. തോമസ് ജോസഫ് തേരകം പറഞ്ഞു. പരാതിയുടെ പൂര്‍ണ്ണരൂപം താഴെ നല്കുന്നു.

Sub: Complaint against media vilification of Catholic Women Religious regarding
We have observed with deep pain and anguish the continuous, concerted and calculated defamation that is taking place through the electronic and print media in recent times, denigrating catholic women religious.
These incidents are purportedly intended to create enmity between different religious groups. These are acts prejudicial to maintenance of religious harmony and intended to create feelings of enmity, hatredness and ill-will towards catholic religious sisters. It is destroying the prevailing social harmony in the country, with disastrous consequences.
From the context and circumstances of the situation it can be easily concluded that these are deliberate and malicious acts with mala fide intentions to outrage religious feelings and it is nothing short of outright criminal insult and a grave affront to our religious life and Christian beliefs. The imputations made in the media are intended to harm the reputation of catholic nuns. There is no iota of truth in the allegations raised. It is not made in good faith for the protection of the interest of the person making it or of any other person or for the public good.
The insults continuously caused by the above mentioned social media sites, TV channels and Newspapers are intentional and capable of making the public look down upon the catholic religious sisters prejudicially and with contempt. We are afraid that this may provoke physical attacks against us both within and outside our convents. Our security and personal liberty is threatened. It is likely to incite other religious communities or persons to commit offences against catholic religious sisters as a class and community. These are acts prejudicial to maintenance of religious harmony in our country.
The ongoing media outrage is deliberate and carried out with malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings of catholic women religious to insult the catholic religion and the religious beliefs of catholic nuns as a class. It is carried out with deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings of catholic nuns.
From the facts and circumstance as aforesaid, it is a clear case where Fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution are denied to catholic women religious. Right of every citizen to a dignified life is enshrined in Article 21 of our constitution. There are umpteen laws in our country to protect and promote the human rights of all women and men.
Therefore, we call upon you Sir, to take cognizance of the situation narrated as above and initiate appropriate action against the social media groups and electronic channels involved in denigrating the social image and status of catholic women religious. Screen shots of the perpetrator media are enclosed along with this complaint.
